Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

At renfaire i saw the awesomely nice :icondeanna23: who was being attacked by the wind. bought 3 buttons since it was all i could afford OTL not that her art was expensive, it just i was relying on my mother having money and she didnt.

En la feria me encontre con la encantadora :icondeanna23: quien estaba siendo atacada por el viento. le compre 3 botones ya que era todo lo que pude costear. no que ella venda caro si no que estaba contando con que mi madre tuviera dinero y mi madre contaba con que yo tuviera dinero .____.

I get lost half the time I speak to people... it's not a pretty sight. Well what I wanted to ask was, do you know of any pictures that best train you when trying to draw them from the internet or your headums?

Been... trying to familiarize myself with any art I could recently... haven't been able to draw anything and I need to get better to get into a new school. Did you have any drawings that helped you configure your skills, quality wise? Was too nervous to ask last time.
